Donatella Cooks!

In recent years, at-home entertaining has become more popular than ever. While many Americans’ budgets may be changing, their desire to entertain friends and family in creative and elegant ways remains the same. People are always looking for ways to glam up a get-together or add some bling to their at-home bash. However, when the time comes to plan a menu and choose the wine, hosts or hostesses can tend to feel overwhelmed. To help ease their fears, restaurateur and culinary personality Donatella Arpaia offers simple but special recipe pairings and tips on how to set the stage for the perfect evening at home.

ABOUT DONATELLA ARPAIA:
Even as a child, Arpaia knew her way around the kitchen. Growing up, she split her free time between her father’s lively New York City restaurants and the rustic kitchens of her grandmother and aunts in Apulia, Italy. Arpaia’s love for all things culinary can be credited to her Italian upbringing. Her family even had a tradition of jarring their own tomatoes after the summer harvest. After working briefly as a corporate attorney, Arpaia decided to pursue her true passion and return to the culinary field, opening her first restaurant at age 24 and going on to open several other successful eateries in the years to follow. Her experience as both a restaurateur and a domestic diva left Arpaia with countless recipes, tips and tricks, which she has compiled in her first cookbook, Donatella Cooks. Donatella has appeared on the Today Show, The Martha Stewart Show, and The Next Iron Chef. She has been featured in In Style, Elle, Glamour, and Women’s Wear Daily who said “if James Bond had a restaurateur girlfriend, Donatella Arpaia would be it.”

Having opened nine restaurants in under 10 years, Donatella is recognized as a major power-player in a multi-billion dollar industry. In 2004, Donatella went on to launch davidburke & donatella with celebrity chef David Burke. The overwhelming success that ensued propelled her to the forefront of the New York restaurant scene and onto New York's 50 Most Powerful Women list by the New York Post and "40 Under 40" by Crain's New York Business.
