About RAISIN IN THE SUN:

The Eleanor Dempsey Performing Arts Center, 13651 Hays Road in Hudson, will host the local theatre group RL Productions as they present A RAISIN IN THE SUN, the renowned drama by Lorraine Hansberry, from September 17 - 19, 2010.

Set in 1950's Chicago, A RAISIN IN THE SUN tells the story of the Youngers, an African-American family struggling to get by.  Hope for the future comes when the late patriarch's life insurance policy pays off.  But the family is at odds over how to use the money.  The son, Walter Lee, wants to invest in a liquor store, while his mother plans to buy the family a house, albeit in a white neighborhood.
