Next Generation Ballet's Swan Lake
This indelible classical ballet has moved audiences since its premiere more than 130 years ago. The haunting score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky sets the stage for the princesses turned into swans by the evil Barron Von Rothbart. Next Generation Ballet's (NGB) award winning dancers will be joined by guest artists including: Sara Sardelli, soloist from Sarasota Ballet; Eddy Tovar, recently featured on So You Think You Can Dance with Los Angeles Ballet in George Balanchine's Who Care's? pas de deux; Landon Harris from Billy Elliot; and NGB's own Hannah Bettes, winner of the 2012 Prix de Lausanne. This two-act world premier version with marvelous sets and costumes has been set and choreographed by Peter Stark, NGB artistic director, and Ivonne Lemus, formerly of National Ballet of Cuba, after the original choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.
